Interior Photographs of Levi's Retail store in Birmingham
I was approached by Levi in the UK to take architectural photographs of their eco friendly retail store in Birmingham. I have photographed interiors for many clients around the UK and jumped on the chance to document the interiors of the store. Heading up to Birmingham I chose my kit wisely, knowing that the store was small I included in my kit various lenses to accomodate wide angles without suffering the downfalls of distortion, these included the Sigma 15-30mm lens which is a little known lens achieving incredible wide angle but without the distortion you would often attribute to wide angle. I also included my usual 24mm PC-E tilt shift Nikkor lens and my 20-35mm Nikkor. I used the full frame Nikon D3S which is my main workhorse camera achieving incredible latitude and reliability. Undertaking retail interior photography often has obsticlals that you would not encounter when working for architects in spaces not used by the general public such as time limitations (I often shoot early in the morning or late at night) scuffs on the floors and shop fittings which have to be removed afterwards and also overcrowding of product. Over the years having worked closely with many visual merchandising departments within the fashion retail world as a photographer I have learnt to rearrange a store somewhat in order to photograph it properly. I have included some images of the store I took, including a comparison between an unedited image and the edited where the client asked for a flag to be removed in post production retouching.

I decided to try something a bit different in the following image so I tilted the 24mm PC-E lens to create an ultra shallow depth of field in order to highlight the Jeans recycling bin.

The following two images are the examples of the retouching in post production to remove the flag from the wall
